SIRA Bulletin - Issue 73

30 March 2026

This month I’m proud to share SIRA’s recently released Return to Work Roadmap 2026-28 (the Roadmap). Developed with extensive stakeholder consultation, the Roadmap sets a clear direction for improving recovery and return to work outcomes for people with an injury across NSW. The Roadmap focuses on earlier support, stronger collaboration across the scheme, and clearer expectations for those who play a role in helping people with an injury recover at work and return to normal activity.

In addition to this strategic work, SIRA has continued to take targeted regulatory action where it is needed. Recent compliance activities have focused on targeted engagement with health providers, holding self-insurers in the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme to account, as well as prosecuting fraudulent claimant activity in the NSW Compulsory Third Party Scheme.

Our regulatory activities are critical to ensuring our schemes continue to deliver fair and timely support for the people who rely on them the most.
