February has been a significant month with further reforms to the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme passing NSW Parliament. SIRA has commenced working with key stakeholders to support the effective implementation of these reforms.
Our latest Regulatory Report for the 3 months ending 31 December 2025 has been published this month. The report details the compliance and enforcement actions taken as part of SIRA’s Regulatory Framework.

Workers compensation reforms pass state parliament
Further reforms to the NSW workers compensation system were passed in the NSW Parliament on 4 February 2026. SIRA has started to work closely with key stakeholders to prepare for implementation.
SIRA publishes its latest quarterly regulatory report
A summary of the compliance and enforcement activities undertaken during the period ending 31 December 2025 is now available. These activities build on SIRA’s commitment to hold regulated entities to account.
SIRA issues $32,600 civil penalty to QBE
SIRA has issued a civil penalty of $32,600 to licensed insurer QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited trading as QBE (QBE) due to non-compliance with their treatment and care obligations.
Commencement of Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill (No 2) 2025
Amendments to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No 2) 2025 were passed by NSW parliament and came into effect 18 February 2026.
Indexation of workers compensation fees
Recent indexation amounts for workers compensation fees orders came into effect 1 February 2026. These orders set the maximum fees that can be charged for treatment and services provided to workers with an injury.
CTP Scheme Quarterly Actuarial Report
Key actuarial measures and indicators used to monitor experience in the NSW Compulsory Third Party Scheme for the period ending 31 December 2025 are now available.
