SIRA launched its new strategy, SIRA 2028, which sets its strategic direction over the next 3 years. The renewed strategy builds on SIRA’s recent achievements and supports its purpose to ensure that the NSW insurance schemes protect and support the people who need them now and into the future.
SIRA 2028 builds upon the goals established in its previous strategy as it strives to be a customer-centred, intelligence-led, risk-based regulator. The renewed strategy identifies 5 clear goals that support the evolving needs of SIRA’s customers.
- Putting customers at the centre.
- High performing people and operations.
- Holding regulated entities to account.
- Strengthening the regulatory environment.
- Enhancing data and digital capability.
Mandy Young, SIRA Chief Executive said that SIRA had made significant progress on the goals set out in its previous strategy, placing it in a strong position to deliver on the outcomes in SIRA 2028.
“SIRA’s Customer Experience Framework, launched last year, provides the tools for us to put customers at the centre of everything we do. This, together with our regulatory approach that is detailed in SIRA’s Regulatory Framework will support our efforts to ensure people in NSW can access the support they need and are protected by accessible, affordable and financially stable insurance schemes.”
“I am excited to be leading SIRA through this next phase, as our people continue to build on the achievements we have made,” Ms Young said.
Nicholas Whitlam, SIRA Chair said the renewed strategic direction reflected a collaborative effort to continue improving a strong, effective regulatory framework.
“SIRA 2028 has been developed through consultation with the SIRA Board, Executive Leadership team, staff, and other key stakeholders. It sets a clear direction over the next 3 years to ensure a positive impact for the people of NSW.”
“Our focus will be on delivering better outcomes, enhancing trust and accountability in everything we do,” Mr Whitlam said.
