This month, SIRA continued its focus on maintaining trust and accountability across the NSW personal injury schemes through a range of regulatory and stakeholder initiatives.
This includes progressing the Health Provider Regulation Implementation Roadmap (The Roadmap) following an independent strategic review of health provider regulation within the NSW personal injury schemes. The Roadmap outlines actions to strengthen regulatory outcomes and improve oversight of health providers across the schemes.
SIRA has also continued its support of recent workers compensation reforms by running a series of information and consultation sessions on the draft Regulation and Guidelines, in conjunction with the Department of Customer Service.
Through this work, SIRA remains committed to transparent, evidence-based regulation that supports better outcomes for people with an injury and strengthens confidence in the schemes we oversee.

Strategic review of health provider regulation within the NSW personal injury schemes
Independent reviewer, Ms Sue Dawson, has provided a clear plan to strengthen the regulation of health providers who operate within the NSW schemes.
Reminder to NSW employers to declare your actual wages on time
In NSW, employers must declare their actual wages to their workers compensation insurer each year. Accurate wage declarations help to ensure premiums are fair and workers are properly covered.
Workers Compensation Reforms FAQs now available
The NSW Government has introduced reforms to the Workers Compensation Scheme to support its long term sustainability and ensure ongoing support for workers with an injury. These FAQs provide guidance current as of May 2026.

SIRA has published the communique from the board meeting held on 14 April 2026. The Board received a progress update on the development of SIRA’s 2026 – 2028 Return to Work roadmap.
