SIRA publishes a Model of care for the management of low back pain - Summary

This month we have published the Model of care for the management of low back pain - Summary. Due to the high incidence of low back injuries across the NSW workers compensation and motor accident schemes, SIRA identified the treatment of low back pain as one of the first priorities in its value based healthcare work program.

SIRA has designed a package of resources to support health providers in implementing the model of care.

Continuing with the theme of guidance and recovery, My Whiplash Navigator is an online tool, backed by SIRA, and developed by a team of researchers and clinicians with expertise in whiplash management. The tool aims to guide recovery from whiplash by providing information and self-guided exercises.

Also, in this issue read more about the regulatory actions recently undertaken by SIRA. These reinforce our role in protecting and delivering better outcomes for the people of NSW.
