Opportunity to improve the mental health of your workforce

SIRA is conducting the first randomised control trial (RCT) in Australia of a coaching program to improve the mental health of workers as part of the Mentally Healthy Workplaces Strategy.

SIRA will partner with the John Walsh Centre for Rehabilitation Research along with a specialised service provider of low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (LiCBT) programs and two large NSW workplaces to evaluate the impact of LiCBT to:

  • improve the mental health of workers through an evidenced based, cost effective, low barrier and low stigma service
  • add to the research evidence on mental health treatment options for workers (and the general population) through:
    • evaluating the short & long-term effectiveness on the LiCBT program for the individual, team (employer) and organisation (workplace or agency) using a randomised control trial
    • understanding the program participants experience and acceptance of the treatment through qualitative work
    • building capacity for researchers, employers and mental health service providers to improve outcomes for workers with mental health symptoms.

Expressions of interest from employers who may be interested in participating in the evaluation is now closed. Contact us at [email protected] for more information.
