Why is SIRA calling me?
Insurer participation
We call workers from employers and insurers participating in the Workers Compensation Assist service at key milestones during your claim.
These calls aim to educate and empower you with information and options to aid in your recovery. We discuss your experiences and the next steps in your recovery so you know what to expect.
Additional outreach support
We proactively contact workers with current claims who may benefit from information about their choices, rights and responsibilities.
During these calls, we talk to you about your experiences and the next steps in your recovery.
How we can help
- Explain the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme and your choices, rights and responsibilities.
- Provide education and information on the claim and recovery process.
- Clarify the roles of your employer, insurer, medical and rehabilitation providers.
- Provide general information about your compensation payments and potential changes.
- Advise you on where to find more help or information.

How will I know if SIRA is going to contact me?
We will send you an email or SMS up to 48 hours before our call, including a link to our webpage for verification. If you would like to confirm that SIRA is contacting you, call us on 13SIRA (13 74 72).
Note that SIRA will never ask for personal details via email or ask you to click on a link to verify your identity.
Tell us when we can call you
We understand you may have medical appointments or be working. Our email will include an option for you to choose the best time for us to call.
This helps to ensure we contact you at a convenient time.
