Updates to version 8.1 of the Motor Accident Guidelines

A summary of major changes to version 8.1 of the Motor Accident Guidelines are outlined in the table below.

Clause	Description of change
4.18-4.19	Removes the requirement that claims notices must be lodged through SIRA’s online portal, which will enable insurers to create their own online claims submission systems.
4.136	Set a commencement date of 1 July 2022 for clause 4.136, which was newly introduced in Version 8 and requires insurers to conduct factual investigations in compliance with Part 15 of the Insurance Council of Australia’s General Code of Practice.
