HBC Insurance Exemption Register
SIRA may exempt a person, such as a building business or developer, from legislated insurance requirements in a particular case if there are special circumstances or if full compliance is impossible or would cause undue hardship, under section 97 of the Home Building Act 1989.
This register allows you to check if a particular property has been granted exemption from insurance requirements since 1 June 2023.
The register does not include information about works that are automatically exempt from insurance.
