You must have the training, skills and experience to perform the role and functions of a return to work coordinator for an employer.
We will develop online training to help employers meet this requirement. Until these online modules are made available, face-to-face training courses will continue to be available.
These courses are for people wanting to work as a return to work coordinator in NSW or existing return to work coordinators wanting to advance their skills.

- 'Introduction to return to work coordination' is a two-day SIRA-approved course for people planning to work as a return to work coordinator in NSW
- 'Advanced return to work coordination' is a one-day workshop for experienced return to work coordinators. This is an interactive course with a focus on strategic case management and managing complex cases.
As part of the harmonisation initiative it was identified that there was a need for mutual recognition of return to work coordinators across state borders.
New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland have worked together to develop an 'add on' training module to assist return to work coordinators from one state understand legislative and operational requirements in other states.
