Indexed adjustments to workers compensation benefits from 1 July 2021
The latest indexed adjustments to workers compensation benefits are now available and apply on and from 1 July 2021.
The adjustments were notified in the Workers Compensation (Indexation) Amendment Order 2021 published on the NSW Legislation website on 25 June 2021.
The Workers compensation benefits guide July 2021 is available on the SIRA Claims management guide, providing stakeholders with the latest information on the indexed adjustments.
In addition, the benefits guide has been updated to include the publication of the historical indexation table (see table 2.3 of the benefits guide) to help insurers following the NSW Court of Appeal decision in Theoret.

Have your say on the future direction of the SIRA research program before consultation closes Friday 9 July 2021.
The SIRA research program aims to facilitate evidence-informed policy, scheme design and supervision activities to support high-quality health and return to work outcomes for injured people in the NSW workers compensation and compulsory third party (CTP) schemes.
A recent review noted that while the program was funding research relevant to the challenges of the sector, impact could be further enhanced by:
- implementing a more strategic approach to setting and defining research priorities
- increased focus and translation of findings to key stakeholders
planning for and effectively evaluating impact - facilitating opportunities for research collaboration and co-design across the sector.

Recovery Boost grant program opens today
Applications for the third and final round of the Recovery Boost grant program open today, Friday 2 July 2021.
Part of the NSW Government’s Mentally Healthy Workplaces project, the Recovery Boost program offers $50,000 grants to individuals and organisations who come up with innovative ways to improve mental health recovery at work.
Learn more about the program and submit your application before Friday 6 August 2021.
Grant winners will be announced in October 2021.
