WIRO assists injured workers with their workers compensation related enquiries and helps to resolve their complaints about the insurer.
WIRO is an independent statutory office with a variety of roles, which include:
- dealing with complaints made by injured workers who are unable to resolve enquires about their claim or complaints with the insurer, in the first instance
- managing the provision of legal assistance for injured workers
- conducting the procedural reviews of insurers' work capacity decisions, for decisions by the insurer before 1 January 2019.
