A surgeon is a medical practitioner who is currently a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, or who is recognised by Medicare Australia as a Specialist Surgeon and who is registered with AHPRA as a specialist in surgery.
This includes a surgeon who is a staff member at a public hospital providing services at that hospital.
