Workers compensation system performance report

We have released our inaugural report on the performance of the NSW workers compensation system.

This report identifies trends and key issues impacting the workers compensation system. It presents available central measures of the system to the 2014/2015 financial year under our new system performance framework.

This inaugural report is the first step in supporting our stakeholders to better understand how the workers compensation system is performing and how their own performance compares.

The process of annual reporting on the NSW workers compensation system will constantly evolve in order to improve transparency and accountability of the system’s operations and outcomes.

The Workers Compensation System Performance Report for 2014/2015 highlights:

  • NSW return to work rate has improved over the past three years, while the overall cost of premiums have reduced
  • number of claims receiving weekly benefits has reduced while the average amount paid under weekly benefits has increased over the past three years
