The Issue

At the request of the Better Regulation Division (BRD) of the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation, the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer conducted this review.
The review investigated the effectiveness of current sponsorship, incentive, grant and strategic research funding models against any alternatives, with a focus on ensuring the best use of resources and a consistent approach across BRD.
The draft report from that review was made available for comment.
Further consultation on the model is expected after the report is final.

Outcomes
The NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation engaged the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer to conduct this review.
The review investigated the effectiveness of current sponsorship, incentive, grant and strategic research funding models against any alternatives, with a focus on enduring the best use of resources and a consistent approach across both SIRA and SafeWork NSW.
